In the
south of Catalonia
is the
Costa Dorada
(golden coast) with its many small traditional fishing villages.
The golden color
- softly, warmly, shining - gave her the right name Costa Dorada. The Phoenicians and later the Romans built important ports, which brought prosperity to the area, especially after the discovery of the New World. In more recent times the attractions of the sea have encouraged tourism and continued to support the local economy.
With its south-facing golden beaches, protected by nearby mountains the region has rightly earned the name "Costa Dorada".
A wide selection of holiday accommodation is available on the Costa Dorada making it
ideal for families
while at the same time offering peace and relaxation for older visitors.
